As you have seen, there are many great reasons to live in the Stratford area. But what about the nightlife? What are the residents of Stratford getting up to on a Saturday night? Well, it varies according to their income, as you might aspect. During the old good Labour government, many locals used to spend their time throughout the week drinking. Whether it was in local pubs, such as the Live & Let Live venue, illustrated on the photograph on the left, or the Shepherds Inn. The former is sadly now shut down, while the latter has been converted to a Lithuanian restaurant.
Those who enjoy sports and can pay the fees could simply walk to the Olympic Park in Stratford. There they will get to see or participate in all kind of sporting competitions. There are loads to choose from, including swimming at the Aquatics Centre. The main attraction of Stratford since the end of the 2012 Olympics is Arcelor Mittal Orbit. The locals can reach the top of this monumental structure. And from there stare at their borough from a high altitude. This attraction costs £11.95 for one person.
Those better-off ones say that the best thing about Stratford is its train station. There, the locals can catch the tube to Central London. When they arrive, they can drink expensive beer (£4.50 approx for a bottle of Becks 330ml bottle), and many other alcoholic beverages.
In Stratford, architects and builders are in the process of converting the remaining pubs and Stratford entertainment. Many things take their place, from Halal Restaurants to Tesco Express. The Pigeons near our office at Maitland Road, for example, is now a Tesco.
As you can see, there are many great things to do in Stratford!
